5 days/4 nights DBB. at The Rutland Hotel Queens Promenade Douglas. The hotel enjoys beautiful panoramic views across Douglas Bay and is only a short walk from the town centre. Please note that due to the original architectural features of this Isle of Man hotel, we politely advise that it is not suitable for any guests requiring wheelchair, mobility assistance or street level access. This property has a number of external steps (9) to access the hotel entrance, as well as internal steps to the upper floors, including the access route from the lift to adjacent bedroom corridors.
Thursday: We depart via our door to door taxi pick up service, with some free time in Morecambe, before boarding the 14.15 Heysham ferry to Douglas (I.O.M. steam packet co.) before arriving at the hotel in time for check in and evening meal.
Friday: Free day at leisure.
Saturday: We have a day excursion on the Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway, with time to view the famous Laxey Wheel which is built into the hillside above the village of Laxey, it is the largest working waterwheel in the world.
Sunday: We have a day excursion on the Isle Of Man steam railway, Douglas to Castletown and Port Erin.
Monday: After breakfast we depart the hotel and on to the nearby Douglas Ferry to Heysham for our return sail, before heading back to Blackpool and the Fylde coast to meet out door to door taxi service.
